NASHVILLE, TN, July 1, 2021 — Healing Innovations, Inc. today announces a collaboration with the Veteran’s Health Administration Innovation Ecosystem (VHA IE), Innovators Network (iNET), via the Greenhouse Initiative. Clinical subject matter experts from seven VA medical centers (VAMCs) will collaborate with Healing Innovations throughout the multi-track project.
“The VHA is the world’s largest provider of neuro health, so partnering with them is a unique opportunity for Healing Innovations to get in on the ground floor of innovating current technologies to make sure care is compassionate, efficient, and always furthering patient outcomes,” says Luke Benda, Chief Executive Officer of Healing Innovations. “We are passionate about helping as many people as possible with our robotic gait training technology, and veterans truly are one of the best places to start.”
The RISE&WALK™ device has the potential to increase Veteran access to rehabilitation by decreasing the number of therapists required for gait training. In addition, future technologies the company is developing has the potential to increase Veteran rehabilitation outcomes, increase access to rehabilitation equipment post-discharge from inpatient status, and increase access to VHA services.
Kathryn Beckner, occupational therapist and Innovation Specialist Greenhouse project lead at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VAMC, commented ”Collaborating with Healing Innovations for VHA clinician feedback on their developing robotic gait training technology has been a great experience! The Greenhouse has been an excellent way to include frontline providers in Innovation and continue to build a culture of innovation within the medical center and VHA! It’s exciting to know the voice of the Veteran and VHA will be included in future developments of this technology.”
